Here are two tea cosies I crocheted recently from handspun. The blue one was to fulfill a request from my neice in NZ, who saw the one I did for my daughter-in-law for Christmas. Before I posted it over, I entered it in the local show - where it won second prize.

The grey tea cosy is made from handspun cross bred, given to me by my daughter-in-laws' father - so when he suggested he would like a tea cosy, I spun up some more of his wool to return to him in the form of a tea cosy!

This one didn't work - the core material (watsonia) was too wet, and when it dried it shrunk and loosened the stitches (done with lomandra). It is about 25 cm long. I learned a lot in doing it though.
