In early September I was one of four weavers from our group who exhibited our work at an Open Garden and Art Trail at Lake Macquarie.

I have been enjoying making a few baskets lately. These three baskets are made from Bangalow palm. The centre on is a metre tall.

This small basket has a stitched base, and the sides are plaited flower stalks from a Bangalow palm.

This pure silk scarf was woven using a broken twill pattern, which gives it a lovely textured look.

Wraps are not the easiest things to wear - you have to keep them sitting on your shoulders. But with a few well placed buttons, they sit comfortably and  can be worn elegantly. These two are woven from pure wool boucle.

The one above is modelled by Marie.

Two boat neck tops:
The one above is woven in black 2 ply wool, with handspun autumn toned stripes in a Fibonacci sequence.
The one below is woven in wool boucle with collapse weave green mohair stripes.
I love ruanas, as they are so easy and comfortable and easy to wear. This one, being worn by my friend Carol was  woven mostly from my hand-dyed 3 ply wool.

I received a commission at our exhibition at Wollombi in June. I wove 5 metres of blue/green Saori, which I made it into a jacket. Yes, it does look a bit too big for me, but it fitted the person I made it for perfectly!

A special birthday present

My favourite items so far this year has been this ruana I made for Sue for her 50th birthday.

A few recent creations

Red scarf I made for myself
 Another bead leno cowl
Dyed wool and silk necklace
My most recent mantle. A bit smaller than earlier ones.

This scarf is woven in a snakeskin pattern using dyed tencel.

Saori cowl

Basket made from pine needles, trimmed with                   shells.
I recently attended a basketry workshop using Bangalow palm. What fun material to work with.

Bead leno weaving technique, in fine silk.
Woollen scarf, woven in mirror bead leno
Carol is wearing my latest ruana.
I had lots of beaut heavy weight fibres in natural colours.
So I made this poncho for Dave for Christmas.
I love doing bead leno weaving
Wool wrap with sari silk inlays.
