Three months after the exhibition...

The first few weeks after the exhibition, I relaxed with some simple projects. Bill was feeling the winter cold, so I wove him a couple of scarves. and then some Saori scarves - I decided it was time to make a couple for myself! The first one sold to a friend as soon as she saw it, before I even had time to photograph it!

Then I set about doing a weavers jacket and another mantle in blue-greens, which I had been asked to make for visitors at the exhibition.

My Exhibition at Wollombi

Lots of work went into preparing items for the exhibition I held at Wollombi, in late May/early June. But it was very successful. About 3/4 of the items I exhibited were sold. I invited Helene Taylor to join me, to show some of her magnificent fine knitting. her items did not sell as well, but they attracted a lot of positive interest and attention.

I did not intend to take orders for other items, but several people were disappointed to see what they liked had a red dot on it already. So post exhibition I have been bust making some more garments.

My saori loom on display attracted lots of interest. It was even more popular when grand-daughter Isabelle spent a morning demonstrating it. Grand-daughter Jessica demonstrated an inkle loom at the same time.

I am so thrilled with the way the exhibition went.

With my exhibition at Wollombi at the end of May/early June, I have been having fun making whatever I feel like. Here are some of the scarves and wraps I have just made:

more wall hangings

I have been enjoying making some more wall hangings lately. Mostly earthy colours, with sticks, grasses and other plant material incorporated into the wools.

This is a clasped weave, decorated with seeds from a Norfolk Island Pine

this one is about1.5 metres long, and includes hemp fibre, NZ flax and a jacaranda seed pod.
